La Pensée Sauvage

While redrafting my script for the first year short film, I tried to pin a narrative model to it. The original draft was written to be a soliloquy, to which my scriptwriting lecturer downplayed it as 'unworkable' in film form, and a cheap attempt to 'dramatize' the plot. He suggested I listened to him and write a script with a proper conversation between two people. I do not disagree. Perhaps he is right, after all. When he suggested that at the first time when you write an idea into your script, the second idea will always be better, and the third, fourth, and so on. I introduced a new character to my existing one, but without any lines. Her job was to be an audience, since I had no motivation for her - yet. In this juncture, she served to be merely functional, rather than an individual autonomous agent. I think I may have written her as a prop.
