Sir Mckellen best-wished me today.
Happy Endings was my first Alfian Sa'at experience. Video from Corridors was the first short story I read from Alfian, and easily one of my favourite. It remained as one of those writings that resonate in my head cinematically. And there was Junfeng's adaptation of Katong Fugue.
(Reconciliation. I'm nowhere near that. Perhaps some day, one day.)
After the play, we celebrated Alfian's 30th. Dong and I took plenty of photos, which can be viewed here as well. Junfeng did a beautiful video tribute to Alfian as well. Happy Birthday, Alfian!
It was a great weekend, and to top it off:
An amazing 15 minutes just happily snapping away, and most importantly being there on stage with him. Sir Ian Mckellen caught the matinee of Happy Endings today, and he loved it. 'This is important theatre,' he said.
He is such a luminous man.
Thanks Dong!
