Nowhere man in a nowhere land.

(Midweek. Sometimes I think I can't go on.)

Day off tomorrow, which is good. Meanwhile I am making plans on my calendar, and the next two weeks are going to be busy times, such as leftover regimental duties before the Taipei trip so I will have free time after to prepare for the end of my army stint. Also, other ceremonial duties that I am obliged to fulfil.

My elder sister flew to Phuket today, amidst the ongoings in Thailand now. Obviously my parents are really worried for her. But she called five minutes ago, and the situation there is fine as it is, no mayhem on the streets or anything, even on the mainland. Back in camp, my friends who had applied for overseas leave to Thailand this month had theirs' cancelled till the situation improves. Let's hope it will.

And speaking of mayhem on the streets, I am a little worried, yet excited about the protests in Taiwan. I am after all, heading there with a bunch of Mandopop-crazed, taimei-loving army boys in two weeks time. And what better time to be there when it is their Double-Tenth Day? I mean, living in sterile Singapore where you will never witness any sort of political madness, or any sort of protest for that matter, this is one great opportunity to see how it is really like. Of course, me and my friends will not be donning any apparel of red or green. Just in case we get killed or something.

Can you imagine, our lovely army force taking over the country (working for them has brought a whole new perspective of wretched incompetence), or Singaporeans donning red, creating a mayhem at the National Stadium on National Day, protesting?
It will be interesting to see what will happen. But I hope this doesn't mean the shops are all going to close for business. I still need to do my shopping.

I was talking about Taiwan. What, Singapore? Please.
