• He's the Mega-mac Daddy of ecology: So Captain Planet (don't you think he looks and sound like Tom Cruise?) is making a comeback and very aptly, on Earth Day. I remember I was Wheeler, whose on-offs with that Ukraine pony-tailed blonde Linka and their contant bickering were such laughs. I even had the ring, which had little coloured filters so you can change your 'element'. So United Colors of Benetton, those Planeteers. They don't make cartoons like these anymore, don't they? Well, Captain Planet was perhaps the only environmental messiah in the cartooned world of good-versus-evil. I remember I was religiously following the moral values at the end of every episodes. Until Power Rangers came along. And did you know, Meg Ryan and Sting and Whoopi Goldberg used to lend their voices to the show?
