the next time you watch girl, interrupted revel in angelina jolie's stunning performance as lisa rowe. to me that's classic. witness her insanity. feel with her. the intensity in her eyes. her fearful indifference. not to mention she is, in fact, one of The most beautiful women in the world. those lips. those eyes. and winona fared just as well. her bambi-eyes eludes innocence with embedded angsty undertone. she is a classic beauty as well, i feel. (she looked eerily like elyse from america's next top model. or rather, the other way round.) but nonetheless their performance complements each other almost perfectly.
but the next time you watch girl, interrupted, look out for the scene when winona's susanna returns to britanny murphy (and she looked heavy in her role)'s daisy's apartment. and skeeter davis' the end of the world (i prefer the carpenter's version. but all the same.) played at the background on repeat. and slowly as susanna went up to look for daisy, the scene showed her going into daisy's room. and seeing the record repeats itself. and finally finds daisy hung dead in the bathroom. her wailing, her shock at lisa's nonchalance (lisa proceeded to take the money out of daisy's pockets and left. not before offering some to susanna.) it's so powerful. well, at least i feel.
why does my heart goes on beating?
