there was such a juxtaposition when i was watching scenes on the nkf charity show a few moments ago. was watching one of those moments when they showed how this mother is struggling with finances in the family, so much so she and her children had to scummage for food at rubbish dumps. even with that irritating nkf tune playing at the background calling for extreme corniness, it was still a sad, sombre sight. then right after the appeal for donations came the advertisements, and the first on the list was how this couple won $5000 from the lucky draw, that is, donating $10 or less and luck be a lady, she got $4990 more. she was in glee and smiling from ear to ear. whilst previously, the other woman was in tears.
somehow, the way these charities are asking for money make cowsense. if these sponsers give out prize money for people who donates, wouldn't it be better they donate the prize money as well? like that woman who won $4990. imagine if she gave that prize money to the woman who had to scummage for dinner in rubbish dump, how much difference it would make.
money has never really been an issue to me. i'm not rich. but my philosophy is that money is perhaps one of the most unnatural thing that ever exist in the world. we need money to exchange for things. it has become a hindrance for people to share, like it is a requisite for us to do anything. we created pieces of paper that blocks the human spirit in us and some of us are even ruled by them. it's almost unnatural, so unreal.
anyway, the weather is murderous. at the rate that i'm sweating, i may just drown the entire place. after this entry i'm going straight for my 1,489th shower of the day and memorize my script.
