ok. i'm suppose to be sleeping. been in idle mode of late. very bad. especially when there is a chinese paper in less than 8 hours time.
oh no.
i need full concentration of my brain to be able to give complete focus on the paper later. and full concentration is a prerequsite to do well in picking and guessing the alphabets for multiple choice. it is also very important to know which words from the comprehension will be convincing enough to fill the empty spaces in the first part of the paper. basically the objective of the chinese AO paper is to fill in all blanks with chinese characters, that's all. so the paper will look full. and once you do just that, viola! you got yourself a C6 at most. only then, can you pat yourself at the back and congratulate yourself, for a work well done. ok, a D7.
and did you know, that Mandarin is the hardest language to learn? if you've been a good GP student, like me, and been reading the straits times, as in the main paper, apart from the Life! and the sports section..and the obiturary section for some of you, you would have read about this extraordinary finding. we usually use just one side of the brain when we speak english or other languages. but these science people found out that people who speak mandarin use both sides of the brain. and thus it is difficult for non-mandarin speaking doons to speak mandarin. now we know. many of us, and those anglo-chinese people, do not exactly use both sides of our brains to speak. no wonder.
