Three words, and then some.

8 cups of coffee and 1 green tea (I counted.), plenty of nicotine and 3 rewrites, I made it through The 24 hour playwriting competition with a lame-arse story about love personified seen through the eyes of a mother, daughter and their Indonesian maid.

No doubt the fact that one day I will look back at the script and laugh at myself for being so incredibly cheesy, but this one is going down the memory lane. (Along side with the two scripts I co-wrote during JC and this comic strip about a caveman and a T-Rex I did in Sec 1. I had full marks for that one.)I am actually pretty proud of my feat. Lesson learnt though, there is no use preparing for the script. My original idea about love between a Filipino maid and a Bangladeshi worker ended up as a minor comedic subplot in the play. The major theme stands firm though; the manifestation of loneliness into love and lust. And untrue to anyone who thinks the script mirrors my innermost desires (read: a certain Miss Judy Tan, if you are reading this.), the stories and ideas are purely fictional. And entirely based on a lethal combination of caffeine, nicotine and Khong Guan biscuits.

Cheers. I shall catch some winks.
