so far life's pretty good. except for monday. the blues were nothing sort of like the sky.

some photos i bothered to post. (photos from the Island of Doom are not up yet because i can't be bothered with the was of military. so till then. well, you've got to do what we do in there - wait.) can't wait for saturday when i get my holga photos. and speaking of holga, it's not the perfect camera for forgetful people like yours truly who's suffering from Mild Short-Term Memory Loss Syndrome. i shudder to think how many times i actually click on the shutter without removing the lens cover and the mulitple exposures i have on a single shot because i keep forgetting to turn to a new shot. anyhow.

alice doesn't live here anymore is something to watch. not because a 12 year-old jodie foster appeared as this really androgynous 'audrey' with unfortunate 70s burns that made her, well, looked like a boy. but the film is really funny, bitter and sweet. when i went for jan sardi's masterclass last week he said a good film is one that makes you connect with the character. (well there are alot of supposed criterion as well.) this film did just that. you don't have to be a woman to connect with alice (played by ellen burnstyn), even though this film was made in the height of the Women Liberation Movement in the 70s. and directed by a young martin scorcese, no less. all empowering, independent women should make this their anthem film. go rent!
